Stock #1-52 w/apologies. AKA Why the first chunk o

Wed Mar 17, 2004, 6:02 PM
Ok... So my scanner is a bit... over-zealous. I know, the images in #1-52 are MASSIVE in file size, even in JPG and show up badly in full view... But after #52 I *swear* they drop in size from 13 MB to about 9 MB.... and then again at #59 to about 6.5 MB... still a very high quality, but not so draining of your computer and the DA servers... nor my computer for that matter.

For any images where you use these I highly recommend starting at 1000 px/in. for your workspace, then cropping down after you do most of the detail work to a more appropriate size for you purpose. Also, for printing in a store, I recommend about 400 px/in cause that is the level that the *best* digital printers print at... You can get up to 12x18 without any quality loss at that level.

Note, however, that when working at 1000px/in. you often want your brushes (esp custom brushes) to be bigger than they are... Holy photoshop pixel limits Batman!
